IVF can now achieve a success rate of around 30% per embryo transferred at the 4-8 cell stage. However the odds are very dependent on the cause of infertility, the treatment undertaken and the age of the female.
The general success rate of assisted fertility in terms babies born per treatment has almost doubled over the past five years as new methods are introduced and techniques improved. It is estimated, at a 30% pregnancy rate, 3 out of 4 couples will achieve pregnancy following four embryo transfers, transferring a single embryo each cycle.
